College Road Trip

Now that we've finally gotten the hang of high school transcripting, we face another challenge on the road to college:  testing!   There are so many letters involved in the names of these tests, requirements vary, testing sites differ, dates to remember, fees to be paid...ugh!  There is a whole other world out there just waiting to challenge the administration of our Upper School!  Please pray as you read this that the Lord would give us clear vision in this next leg of the journey as JDS and AMS continue on this college bound road.

For those traveling alongside us (or just slightly behind us), here is some information that might be of help to you and your student (from the Heart of Texas email):

OFFICIAL 2008 -2009 COLLEGE BOARD TEST DATES 

2008 PSAT/NMSQT TEST DATES: 
OCTOBER 15 or OCTOBER 18

PSAT TESTING FEE:  $13 (some schools charge an additional fee to cover administrative costs)
Homeschoolers who take the test at their local public school should not be charged more than the school charges its own students.  



2008 SAT DATES:
 

OCTOBER 4 
Regular Registration Deadline:  September 9, 2008 
Late Registration Deadline (late fee applies):  September 16 

NOVEMBER 1 
Regular Registration Deadline:  September 26, 2008 
Late Registration Deadline (late fee applies):  October 10, 2008 

DECEMBER 6 
Regular Registration Deadline:  November 5, 2008 
Late Registration Deadline (late fee applies):  Novembr 18, 2008

JANUARY 24, 2009 
Regular Registration Deadline:  December 26, 2008 
Late Registration Deadline (late fee applies):  January 6, 2009 

MARCH 14, 2009 
Regular Registration Deadline:  February 10, 2009 
Late Registration Deadline (late fee applies):  February 24, 2009

MAY 2 
Regular Registration Deadline:  March 31, 2009 
Late Registration Deadline (late fee applies):  April 9, 2009 

JUNE 6 
Regular Registration Deadline:  May 5, 2009 
Late Registration Deadline (late fee applies):  May 15, 2009 

Important Information for Test Takers: 
Sunday administrations occur the day after each Saturday test date for students who are unable to take the test on a Saturday due to religious observance. 

The Language Tests with Listening are only administered in November. 

On March 14, only the SAT Reasoning Test is offered.
