Getting Caught Up

Since Christmas, we began some reupholstering projects
(which someone else is going to finish for us)...
Played at Pump-It-Up...
Visited a recycling plant...
Enjoyed the aftermath of an ice storm...
Started JSS' new fish tank
(from cloudy)...
(to clear!)...
We've home schooled...
(below, making blue prints of our house)Prepared for the Cub Scout Derby Race
(this year, a submarine inspired by a trailer
for the movie Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus)...
Helped G'ma and G'pa move...
Been sick...
Spent a week taking photos of JDS for
his senior picture...
(below are a sample of AMS' work)

Taken an art class at the Museum...
Finished the pinewood derby submarine/car...

Helped Dad with some home improvement...
Earned the Readyman badge at a one-day
workshop sponsored by local Boy Scouts...

Attended the Symphony for the first time...
Attended several field trips like this one to
a Civil War Museum...
(JSS doing a rim shot in front of a drum
used during the Civil War as we went on
our Scavenger Hunt)

Enjoyed race day...
(Here, good ol' Dad doing some last-minute lubing
of the tires for speed, which is what JSS wanted to win.)
In the end, JSS came in 4th, 4 times in a row...
(How on EARTH do you make fast cars?!?!)
But he won 2nd year in a row a certificate for his design!
Grandma was able to join us for lunch after the race,
which JSS picked as Jack in the Box.
Some heavy-duty augering to try to get our
two downstairs toilets to flush! What a
STINKIN' mess this day was, but after 8 hours,
we achieved flushing!!!! WAHOO!!!

I will sincerely try not to wait so long to blog, but to be honest with you, we have been supremely busy, especially with Dad being out-of-town so much.

Hope all is well with you and...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
